'S Marvelous

Ask me anything   Multi-verse blog.

I think it’s genius how Bane condemns 1% for keeping people down with ‘myths of opportunity’ because that is exactly what he is using to get people to revolt to achieve his own twisted purposes.

Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan.

I wish they were twins so that I could accurately use the term “wonder twins”.

Just re-watched Inception. Something hit me. Nolan really likes the idea of the “clean slate”. In Inception, Cobb wants his record cleared so that he can go home, to what’s left of his old life. In the Dark Knight Rises, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle want their record clean so that they leave Gotham, in search for a new life.

Same concept for different purposes.

Small note: to those who pointed out the “clean slate” concept is stupid, it’s meant to be symbolic and nothing else. If you’re asked to live in a world where a man dresses up as a Bat, then the existence of the clean slate program shouldn’t really throw you off balance in any case. That is all.

How my mother interpreted the end of Inception.

Mother: I think it was a nice ending. I think it’s beautiful that the spirit of this dead wife is inside his totem. That’s why it keeps spinning. It’s so nice, she’s watching over her children.

Me:…. What. How did you reach that conclusion?

Mother: It’s only logical.

Me: *Internal facepalm*

The whole soundtrack is a masterpiece. The Dark Knight Rises is a masterpiece.

Is Batman to blame?

IN SHORT NO. Some people out there (the media, whatever you watch/read from Fox News to the New Yorker) will doubtless mention that Nolan’s films may have had some influence over James Holmes’s actions. Are they right? It’s my opinion as a Batman fan, avid-movie goer and a comic book reader that the films and anything related to them are should not and cannot blamed. We CANNOT live in world where we are afraid to create anything that features some darkness/villains (to play opposite light/heroes) because someone may or may not misinterpret our creations and use them for horrifying purposes. People do evil things all the time, they don’t need inspiration from art to awaken the ugliness inside of them.

This story needs to stop being turned into something it’s not. It’s a tragedy and a deranged and malicious man is to be blamed. James Holmes pulled the trigger, he and he alone is responsible. We should stand united against this (I don’t even care if it sounds sappy). I think we all feel like we lost a friend when we heard about this, we all feel for the victims. We all feel sad and furious. It is truly unfair.

But, I think The Dark Knight Rises should be watched at least twice…fear cannot rule our lives.

New viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises has been fairly quiet on the publicity front over the last few months, but the film’s viral campaign appears to have clicked back into gear with the official website displaying a new wanted poster for Batman…

First look at Henry Cavill’s Superman.  I am not disappointed.

I’ll have to agree and I can definitely see the Jim Lee inspiration from Zac Zynder’s part.
